  1. The Importance Of A Tripod And Saddle For Hunting When you have a tripod in your hand you always have a shooting position. Regardless of the environment, the tripod and Hog Saddle allow you to gain stability in any situation. Any hunter that has spent any amount of time in the country or backcountry will know that when you’re on a hunting trip, the weight that you carry along with your matters. That is why it is so important to use the correct and only the necessary equipment when you’re stalking a game in the great outdoors. It is not unknown for avid hunters to make smart plans to lessen the weight they’re carrying, from cutting their food supply to utilizing a single utensil instead of multiple, the list goes on. However, when it comes to equipment, many hunters know that some pieces of the puzzle cannot be left at home even if they do amount to additional weight, and one such piece is the tripod and its saddle. This is one of the most critical pieces of equipment you’ll need on a hunting trip, aside from your actual rifle. A tripod, in essence, offers stability, which will help you spot games much more easily. It is difficult to scout using only the scope of your rifle if you are holding it in your hand. By our very nature, our hands and arms are not stable enough to keep a rifle steady while scouting. The backward and forwards movement and even the slightest shake or wobble can mean that you don’t spot an elk or a moose or a deer standing dead still in the brush. The game has a way of keeping themselves stationary to avoid detection, and a hunter using his rifle scope to scout will find that they miss a lot of game through sheer human error. A tripod eliminates this issue by offering you the stability to hold your scope or binoculars perfectly still while scouting. Of course, it also plays a large role when it comes to taking the actual shot, but it serves a critical purpose in scouting as well. Additionally, if you’re only using your arms and hands to keep glass, scope, or pair of binoculars steady, you will eventually get tired and your muscles may fatigue, which is why hunters without tripods often scout for a much shorter period. As the game moves freely and can excellently camouflage, it is not uncommon for hunters to miss a game when scouting for only a couple of minutes at a time. You need to be able to look through your glass clearly and accurately and scour the mountains, brush, and countryside for any sign of a deer hiding behind a bush, or an elk standing dead still in the shadow of an overhang. Those with a lot of experience will always say that it is much better to scout for at least half an hour or several hours at a time. Once you’ve found a position from which to scout your game, you can spend a significant amount of time lazily glassing while using a tripod. This is because a tripod takes a lot of the effort away from the hunter, which makes it easier to focus on a specific area for an extended period. Hunting is a precision sport, and those that have a passion for it will know that accuracy and clarity are two of the most important parts of the game.
