  1. By Megan Griffiths Aged 13 My awesome presentation!

  2. My absolute passion has to be animation – including art (which I am good at) and films. I draw nearly everyday and I have won a competition before in school. I love movies with high quality animation, although sometimes I end up judging them by it! It is no surprise then that my ambition is to become a professional animator; possibly working for either a game company (I LOVE gaming too!) like EA or the big names like Pixar and DreamWorks. WhatIlove...

  3. Animation has been a part of me for years. I used to enjoy watching classic Disney films (I still do!) and my favourite film was the Lion King. When I was about 7or8 I began drawing the lions used in the film. To be honest, I have become better since then and my drawings turned out to be very basic, but I was apparently the most advanced when it came to skills with a pencil and my friends all wanted me to teach them how to draw like that. How I began to like animation...

  4. It started off with the most basic of technology; a pencil and imagination. To begin with, it was like a flick book. It would be a sequence of pictures ,like steps, that would seem to move itself when put together. Facts and evidence show us that people as ancient as cave times used this method on cave walls but of course in a much simpler form. It gradually began to progress... How animation began...

  5. Over a period of time it began to turn 3D when computer technology had modernised. Disney was one of the first to use the new cutting edge technology and since then, all 3D animation films by Disney are called Disney Pixar. Animation on computers has become the richest in quality and popularity. Nearly all films now (animated and non animated) are in both 3D and 2D.

  6. Disney Pixar’s logo is of the word PIXAR with a lamp replacing the “I”. Disney’s mascot is obviously Mickey Mouse and their logo the Disneyland entrance. Walt Disney actually used to be afraid of mice! The studio has earned 26 Academy Awards, seven Golden Globes, and three Grammy Awards, among many other awards and acknowledgments and has built up significantly since their first film, TOY STORY. Its films have made over $6.3 billion worldwide. Pixar first began in 1979 as a graphics company. In 2006, Walt Disney bought Pixar for around $7.4 billion. Pixar

  7. DreamWorks was founded in 1994 and most films now by them are in 3D animation. They have had films in 2D before as well, but it seems that their recent movies such as Shrek have really boosted their success. It was ,at a time, partnered with Paramount but their partnership ended in 2008. It is thought that they have a rivalry to Disney and Pixar. DreamWorks
