  4. WECC Reliability • The current 3 existing RC offices (PNSC, RDRC, and CMRC) are being consolidated into 2 RC offices to be located in Vancouver, WA and Loveland, CO. • The PNSC Corporation is being dissolved by end of 2008. • CMRC will no longer exist.

  5. WECC Reliability Coordinators • All Reliability Coordinators are currently or will shortly become employees of WECC. • Each of the two new offices will be fully redundant and act as a back up for the other.

  6. WECC Reliability Coordination • Mark Maher – Chief Operations OfficerLinda Perez - Director Reliability Coordination • Each RC office will have its own independent manager. • Vancouver – Don Pape • Loveland – John Greenlaw • There will be 12 RC’s per office. They will be on a 6 week 12 hr rotating shift. • 6 Real Time RC’s • 6 Senior/Study RC’s • 7 Support positions – Lead, Training, EMS, Study, Compliance

  7. WECC Reliability Coordination • AREVA SCADA System and PI Screens. • Equinox - CROW for logging - COS for outages • Reserve Group Interface

WECC RC’s Geographic Area’s of Responsibility • Although the WECC Reliability Coordinators in each of the two WECC Reliability Coordination Centers are responsible for monitoring the entire Western Interconnection and working in collaboration as a team, during normal operations the Reliability Coordinators in each of the WECC Reliability Coordination Centers each have specific geographical areas for which they are responsible for directing actions and issuing directives.

Westwide System Model • Moved from AREVA to Vancouver Office • Operating and producing State Estimations (SE) • Currently developing screens based on inputs from current offices • Plant Information (PI) screens also in development • AREVA training underway for all RC’s • Future uses of WSM (Base Cases) • Model Updates

  13. New Loveland Facility • Move in – 10 September • Commissioning – 15 September • Consoles – Mid-October • NERC Review for two weeks in October • Run parallel operations until 31 December • Operate from new facilities in January 2009
