Teacher Quality Enhancement Grant:

Area VI: Cross Institutional Articulation

  • Vision – Develop policies that facilitate
  • the articulation of pre-teacher education programs with teacher education programs and
  • 2) the predictable transfer of teacher education students into baccalaureate programs while meeting the requirements for high-quality education programs. In so doing, the quality of teacher education state wide will be improved.

Collaboration among the Iowa Department of Education and 2 and 4-year institutions through cooperative work sessions and other activities.

  • Obtaining 60 credits of lower division course work in the arts and sciences to satisfy the NCATE standards
  • Taking courses on educational psychology, special education and educational theory
  • Maintaining a 2.75 GPA
  • Passing the reading, writing, and math proficiency tests
  • Developing a portfolio
  • Completing the field experience requirements
