    3. 1. BACKGROUND

    4. 1.1 Energy sector in India Total installed capacity= 167 GW Total thermal = 64.6% Hydro renewable = 24.7 % Nuclear = 2.9 % Renewable Energy sources = 7.7 % Mission 2012- power for all Rural electrification

    5. (56% of households lack electricity, with at least 25,000 Indian villages declared by the Indian government economically impossible to reach via conventional means) source: India Cleantech economy (http://www.indianenergytech.com)

    6. 1.2 Biomass energy in India Contribute 32% of the total primary energy use in the country 70% people depends upon it for its energy needs Power generation potential of 18000 MW High employment potential in rural area Promotion: Central finance assistance, concession import duty, excise duty, loan by IREDA

    9. 3. LITERATURE RIVEW Husk power in India, by: Andrew C. Revkin, published on Dec 24, 2008 Husk Power System wants to lead a revolution in electricity, by Jenera Nerenberg, Wed Jan 5, 2011 JEL classification: Q42,Q40

    13. 4. INTRODUCTION OF HPS

    14. HPS Mission: Empowerment of remote and neglected rural areas of Bihar through spread of Energy and smart Agricultural practices Operating in rice husk rich region like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh by some young bloods. (80% to 90% rural areas of poorer states in Indias rice belt have extreme shortage of supply of electricity)

    15. HPS Operating 60 mini power plants and power approx 25000 households in more than 250 villages in Bihar 1 mini power plants of 35-100 kW serves about 400 households Each plants replaces 42000 litres of kerosene and 18000 litres of diesel per year Low cost and high turnover

    16. 5. OPERATION Clean combustible gas is generated through rice husk is converted by gasification Low land and labor cost Power is supplied at evening, 6 - 10 hour per day at low cost

    17. 5. OPERATION continue

    18. 6. PUBLIC PARTNERSHIP

    19. 7. HPS EXPANSION

    20. 8. INVESTORS

    21. 9. IMPACT OF HPS

    22. 10. MY OBSERVATION

    25. 11. CONCLUSION This type of small power plants give hope to the people who live in darkness and where govt. in 60 years could not make availability of electricity There are huge source of renewable power, the important is to search ..

    26. Thank you Any queries???
