  2. Lake Powell A History Located on the border between Utah and Arizona, Lake Powell is the second largest man-made reservoir in the United States. Created as a result of the flooding of Glen Canyon in 1963, it now attracts over 2 million visitors a year. Known for its sparkling waters and geological formations, learn more about this majestic wonder in the next few pages.

Formed over millions of years, Tower Butte sits 5,000 feet above sea level on the south shore of Lake Powell and Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park.
