  1. Various Types of Concrete Testing Equipment Available Online Concrete testing is crucial to the construction industry as it lets builders and engineers determine the strength and quality of the material to make sure that it is suitable for their project. Concrete testing in Australia involves testing cylinder samples for compressive strength. AS1012 explains the right procedures, sampling equipment, and the machinery and tools for the test. The same standard specifies other tests, like flexural testing, and determining indirect flexural strength by splitting. Some types of concrete testing equipment available online can be used on-site. Here is an overview of the various types of equipment you can find online: • Compression testing machines– Available in automatic, semi-automatic, and manual versions, compression testing machines can determine the flexural, split, and compression strengths applied to materials of low tensile strength but with high compression. The machine applies increasing compressive forces to the sample until failure occurs. Compression testing machines can provide 2000 kN and 3000 kN capacities and they meet CE norms requirements for the health and safety of operators. Likewise, their technical properties meet the EN 12390-4 and local Australian standards. • Compaction testing equipment– Seasoned providers of concrete testing equipment offer different devices for testing concrete compaction. Some examples of these devices are the Vebe consistometer, compacting factor apparatus, Kelly ball apparatus, and the degree of compact ability or Waltz container. • Slump testing equipment– Slump testing is the most commonly used method to determine the workability and texture of fresh concrete. It seems simple enough, but you need the right equipment and tools to perform it properly. Through this test, you should be able to verify similarity between concrete batches. The best equipment is supplied as paint- coated or galvanised steel to prevent corrosion. The components should include a slump cone, a base plate, the funnel, tamping rod, steel ruler, and the rubber mallet. All components must be designed and built to the standards recommended by AS 1012.3.1. • Compressometers – A compressometer is used during a compression test. It determines the diametrical and axial deformation of the concrete cylinder or the cube specimen. Reputable providers of concrete testing equipment supply compressometers with three digital gauges or sensors.
