  1. 7 Points to Remember Before Performing Concrete Compression Test Every other building has its own set of mechanical strength and durability requirements that can be wisely fulfilled using the right type of concrete mixtures. The noteworthy attribute of concrete is its capability of compressive strength. The concrete compression test is used to determine the concrete compressive strength, and the testing process will be performed on cylinder samples, in which pre-measured forces shall be applied. This is a set of points that shall be followed while performing the concrete compression test.  Characterising the mould: The concrete mould gets created after going through the standards that need to be followed in the first place. The mould must remain in its original configuration so that it does not lose in shape. An oil coat shall be applied upon the reusable moulds, and strong grease is used for preventing leakage.  Determining the concrete size: The concrete material strength shall always decline in terms of size unless the provided sample lateral dimensions tend to reach 450 mm.  The right time to collect samples: The sample needed for performing the test should be collected only when the concrete discharge tends to begin. Such samples must represent the concrete material, which is all set to be tested.  Evenly distributing concrete: Tamping rods must be used to distribute the concrete material evenly.  Placement of the sample: The cylinder that is about to be used for testing purposes should contain good quality. The concrete blocks shall have hardened faces, and they must be kept upwards while performing the test.  Zeroing the indication level: Before the actual concrete compression test begins, the indicator must be set to zero, and it should be checked more than once as well.  Loading flow: Continuous load must be applied with less to no shocks given to them in the first instance.

  2. When to measure and record? The load needs to be applied unless the collected sample tends to start breaking down. This way, the maximum load that has got accumulated over the sample can be noted. These days, certified laboratory equipment and concrete testing machines can be used to acquire accurate readings at your convenience.
