  1. How to Prepare for the Age of IT Service Management (ITSM)? ITSM stands for IT Service Management, which collectively refers to different activities like designing, building, delivering, managing, and supporting IT service lifecycle requires. The different pieces of technology that your enterprise uses—from your laptops and computers to the different applications and programs installed on them, as well as other hardware systems and devices that they interact with (e.g. printers, and other peripherals) and even their different settings and options—all constitute IT service. Beyond resolving an IT system’s day-to-day issues and supporting basic IT needs, ITSM ensures end-to-end management and solutions to various IT issues. It guarantees the right blend of people, technology, and processes in order to ensure proper delivery of the different needs of the organization. In essence, ITSM is the art and science of making business operations run as smoothly as possible. This involves answering critical questions like how business processes are supposed to run, for whom/what purpose, and with what tools. ITSM can therefore be broken down into major areas of concern, including end users (customers and employees who ought to use IT services management), services (hardware, software applications, IT infrastructure, etc.), quality (problem-solving), cost (IT budget), and business operations (core functions to achieve goals). All these works together to help businesses better understand their own processes, align them with their goals, and ensure repeatable and scalable functions through well-defined responsibilities and roles, increased productivity, and proactive approach to issues, resulting in overall improved performance. Preparing for ITSM requires: 1.A study plan of your entire business operations to ensure alignment in all aspects of business 2.A flow chart and decision table to help decide which solutions should be a priority 3.A list of all technologies your operation requires 4.A selection of computer network and software security systems along with proper agile/lean frameworks; and 5.Cultivating a self-service culture, which is critical to a faster path to problem resolution instead of constantly relying on IT professionals for support
