  1. Relieving Sciatica Pain A condition caused by pain originating from the lower back and travelling along the length of the leg, creating a tingling sensation, excruciating pain or even numbness, is called sciatica. The primary cause of this is the pressure put on the piriformis muscle, that is located in the lower back, near the nerve compression called “sciatica nerve” which is caused by disk bulge or other injuries. According to back pain specialists in Chennai, sciatica is also caused by degeneration of the spinal discs, as the sciatic nerve can become compressed as a result of wear and tear over time. One vertebra slipping over another, leading to misalignment and consequent nerve discomfort, is another reason. One of the effective solutions for sciatica pain is yoga chikitsa, a therapeutic yoga practice that addresses sciatica by alleviating pain, improving flexibility and strengthening the muscles surrounding the affected area. Below are some of the poses and asanas that can be done with the guidance of specialists who provide sciatica treatment in Chennai. 1. Cat-cow pose: Lying on your back with your knee pressed close to your chest is a relaxing pose. Because it increases flexibility, it releases tension from the hips and lower back. 2. Triangle pose: Known as trikonasana, it stretches the hamstrings and improves the overall balance, as it strengthens the core and promotes the pelvic region. 3. Bridge pose: Bridge Pose tones the legs, back, and buttocks. Additionally, it opens up the chest, which helps to realign the spine and relieves strain on the sciatic nerve. 4. Reclining Hand-to-Big-Toe Pose: This is a reclining pose that works the lower back and hamstrings, increasing flexibility and releasing stress in the sciatic nerve area. 5. Half Lord of the Fishes Pose: This sitting twist relieves strain on the sciatic nerve by increasing hip mobility and stretching the muscles along the spine. These are some of the yoga poses and asanas that can manage sciatica pain by doing these with the help of back pain specialists in Chennai.
