Current status macedonia l.jpg
Current status - Macedonia

  • Not developed National Innovation System

  • R&D investment for 2004 – 0.25 % of GDP

  • Business sector participation - < 6% !!!

  • Only 2 small, 21 medium and 31 large enterprises invested in R&D activities amounting to Euro 1.7 million (in 2003) and Euro 1.24 million (in 2004)

  • Low interest among SMEs for R&D activities

  • Low level of collaboration between “knowledge creators” and “knowledge users”

  • Problematic absorption capacity of Macedonian “knowledge users”

  • Only few bright examples of good practice
