  1. Wholesome Eating During Post-Partum Confinement Post-partum confinement is meant to improve the general health and wellbeing of new mothers. Going by Traditional Chinese Medicine, certain food items are highly recommended for wholesome confinement meals.

  2. Food for confinement mothers Becoming a new mother is indeed a life-changing event – it involves a lot of emotions, but it can also be extremely exhausting. After childbirth, every new mother is bound to lose her stamina, and develop an overall weakness. A healthy diet is, therefore, an absolute necessity to replenish the lost nutrients and energy. 

  3. Some of the wholesome foods include the following 1. Salmon:Salmon is rich in protein and helps your body to heal the wounds. It also is rich in zinc which helps in fighting against post-partum depression. It can be best consumed baked, steamed or fried. Consuming salmon can provide DHA to your baby as well which can help in your baby’s healthy developing.  2. Chicken Feet:Chicken feet are best when cooked in soups. Chicken feet provide a good source of collagen to your body and improve healthy blood flow as well. These are rich in protein, vitamins, healthy fat which protects you from stomach related problems and nourishes the spleen.

It is very rich in fibre, potassium, magnesium, vitamin B6 and C, and certain other nutrients. You can add ¼ teaspoon of turmeric powder to any dish that you cook. 4. Oats:Oats are especially known for their energy providing supplements. Oatmeal’s or oat can be considered as the best food for confinement mothers are a well-known energy provider for new mothers who do not get enough sleep throughout the night. Oats are rich in fibre, vitamins, minerals, protein, and other nourishing elements. You can add oats in milk for better taste, add fruits like oranges, apples, bananas, and etc for extra added vitamins and minerals.

Some of the wholesome foods include the following 5. Chinese rice wine:Chinese rice wine is made up of fermented glutinous rice which helps your body to promote better blood circulation and warms the body up during confinement. 6. Black Pepper:Black pepper is a body warming ingredient that is essential during confinement. Black pepper is popularly known as the substitute for red chilli and green chilli. It is said that black pepper helps in healing the pores that open during delivery. Black pepper can be added to any dish.
