Yakasugi or Shou Sugi Ban is traditional technique to char the wood on the outward face. Yakisugi is gaining popularity all over world. Now it is not restricted only in Japan but beyond. The course of this wood makes it more durable, no need to look after, fire resistant and rot and pest free. We can achieve various surfaces and glosses for interior and exterior usage, from profoundly burn to the silky and shiny surface. You never need to polish or paint it for at least next 70-80 years and its installation is easier too. These Yakisugi wood planks can also be polish with a propane torch or sent through a furnace for volume production, it can be left untouched or brushed as per the requirement. The Yakisugi process is not just simply charring the wood; it can be brushed or oiled to achieve a desired look. There are three main products surface: Suyaki (original charred), Gendai (brushed once). And Pika-Pika (brushed twice).
Suyaki is the original Shou Sugi Ban product, known as “alligator” in the Japan. This heavily Charred wood surface is long lasting and need not to polish or brush.
