  1. India is on the note of improvement regarding its maternal and child mortality rate but despite that the program of immunization in Indiahas been uneven across the 28 Indian states where the proportion of children being vaccinated below five years of age exceeds 70% in only 11 states and has less than 50% in eight states.

  2. Why There Is A Need For Immunization?

  3. Child Survival & health • Strong primary health care • Sustainable future of the nation • Disease-free community

  4. THE PROBLEMS WE ARE FACING EVEN TODAY

  5. Poor Education and Lack of Knowledge Having no information about its significance, the individuals miss out on their dosage.

  6. LOW-QUALITY VACCINES Somehow, low-quality vaccines have resulted in poor performance of vaccination programs previously resulting in a lack of trust among people.

  7. GEOGRAPHIC BARRIERS People living in far and distant regions are left out of the immunization programs and sometimes fall victim to these deadly diseases.

  8. RESISTANT POPULATION There are many people living in our country who still do not believe much in this science of medicine. For them, vaccines are not worthy and hence they drop out of the scheduled programs.

  9. HOW TO RESOLVE THE SITUATION?

  10. The immunization plans should be scheduled and re- scheduled • Parents need to be made aware of its importance through mass media, local meetings etc. • Creating local help groups who can keep track of the children who are not vaccinated.

  11. Immunization is one of the most important issues in the medical domain. Look out for some of the challenges that our country is facing and what we could do to improve the situation at an individual level. NGOs in Delhihave been working at the grassroot level to make this possible.
