Aims: to examine the key features and the consequences of the 1905 Revolution.

Scene 1: Shortly after the 1905 Revolution – Father Gapon and demonstrators give their account of the main events and their reactions. Cossack Guards give their version of events.

Scene 2: Industrial workers and students describe conditions in the cities and their wishes for the future. Sailors describe the outcome of recent wars and their feelings towards the tsar. Peasants give their account of what is happening in the countryside.

Scene 3: Back in the Winter Palace, Tsar Nicholas II, Tsarina ‘Alexandra and the Tsar’s Ministers are interviewed and asked ‘what next for Russia?’

Scene 4: Representatives of the different political parties: Mensheviks, Bolsheviks, SR’s debate the future of Russia.
