  1. Concealed Carry Classes Illinois CCW in USA: History and Development CCW or better known as Concealed Carry Weapon is a far common practice in America, which can be described as carrying weapons (small arms like handgun) in a concealed way, in public. However, these permits vary greatly in their flexibilities along state lines, since each state has their own restrictions and understanding of weapons allowed to be carried in public in concealed manner. As an example, the state of Florida requires to have a Concealed Carry Weapon permit for carrying pepper spray in excess of 2 ounces, even if the device is used for self-defense, and is not lethal.

  2. Exceptions of Concealed Carry Weapon Permit: Every state has created their own safety nets in the most vulnerable public places, which include:  Facilities of State Government, such as correctional facilities, police stations, meeting places for government entities, etc  Facilities of the Federal Government, which include Federal court buildings, IRS offices, post offices, military facilities, etc  Political events like debates, parades, rallies, etc  Professional sporting events and/or public interscholastic events  Educational institutions, which include both elementary and secondary schools, colleges and universities  Carnivals, fairs, parades and Amusement parks  Hospitals and other healthcare facilities  Alcohol based businesses like nightclubs, bars etc  Mass transit systems operated and owned by local municipalities  Churches  Private property  Airports Depending upon the qualifications, threat level and need for a person to carry a firearm, CCW is awarded to a person. A CCW permit can further be divided into:  May Issue: A jurisdiction which requires a valid permit to carry concealed small firearms like handguns; the final decision of granting permits is partially bestowed upon the discretion of local authorities. In addition, issuing authorities in these jurisdictions can deny permits for Concealed Carry Weapons without being required to provide any substantive explanations. Shall Issue: A jurisdiction which requires every owner having a permit to carry Concealed Carry Weapon to carry licenses; however, issuance of such licenses will be done only if the person meets certain predetermined criteria laid out within the framework of the law. In 

  3. contrast to May Issue jurisdiction (where granting permits will be done at the authorities’ discretion), this jurisdiction describes that a license is provided if the criteria are met. Unrestricted: Also known as Constitutional Carry, this jurisdiction does not require people to have permit for Concealed Carry Weapon. Unrestricted jurisdiction also comes with partially unrestricted jurisdiction in some states (they require permit for some concealed carry weapons, while others do not require so.  Implications of Court’s rulings on the State of Illinois: The Illinois Concealed Carry Law generally authorizes small arms (like handguns) license holder to have a handgun on the owner’s body, or completely concealed from view of public. However, hand guns do not mean a taser or stun gun, short barreled shotgun or rifle, Paint ball gun, spring gun or pneumatic gun; the state of Illinois also does not provide any rules on providing ammunition carried by a License holder. Major Aspects of Illinois CCW: The CCW prohibits any kind of firearms in restaurants and bars where in excess of 50 percent of total sales come from alcohol. In addition, the new law states that applicants should submit details

Training Requirements of gun owners having CCW permit: The new CCW in the state of Illinois now requires a mandatory firearms training course for 16 hours, including range qualification time, and spreads over:  Firearm safety  Cleaning, care, loading and unloading of concealable firearm  Basic principles of marksmanship  All federal and state laws relating to ownership, carrying, storage and transportation of firearms  Lawful interaction with law agencies regarding carrying or transportation of a concealable weapon. For More Details : www.midlandfirearms.com
