  1. Top 5 Career Paths for B.Tech Graduates

  2. Bachelors of Technology (B. Tech), is one of the most chosen career paths in India. The number has risen so far to the extent that there is at least one engineering graduate in every Indian house. With the rising population of engineers, it is also vital to have a clear idea about different career paths B. Tech graduates can pursue after their course graduation.

  3. Here is a list of the top 5 directions B. Tech graduates can turn into, irrespective of their specialization.

  4. Campus Placements: There are plenty of multinational companies that hire B. Tech graduates from their respective universities and colleges. One can always contact the placement cell of the college, attend on-campus drives and get hired in the industrial hubs of our country like Pune, Gujarat, Bangalore, Chennai, and Hyderabad, with reasonable salary packages. On-campus drives examine the skills of students in different ways including activities, tests, interviews etc. along with CGPA or GPA, assignments and projects of previous semesters.

  5. Higher Studies: After the completion of B. Tech one can always opt for higher studies. During the engineering course period, one can start preparing for GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering). Excellent score in the GATE exam can get you admitted in any of the NITs or IITs in India for a master’s degree. Even if the GATE scores are less, one can always pursue M. Tech in other prestigious universities.

  6. Jobs in PSUs: PSUs (Public Sector Undertakings) are the companies run by state or central or both governments together. Within this public sector a considerable amount of job opportunities are available on a permanent or contractual or temporary basis. BHEL, NALCO, LIC, Hindustan Copper Limited, Indian Government Mint, SAIL, Indian Oil, Vizag Steel, ONGC, DRDO etc. are the companies that come under the PSU.

  7. Management: In order to climb the ladder of corporate life, one of the best options available is to get an MBA and enhance your managerial skills. Anyone with an MBA and B. Tech are more likely to get hired by global companies, since it is a perfect proportionate blend of analytical skills, technical knowledge and managerial skills that can rise the company into further heights.

  8. Entrepreneurship: It is not necessary that B. Tech graduates must work for a firm, they are more than welcome to begin a startup. Becoming an entrepreneur is not an easy task, it requires a bewitching business idea, time, patience and regular investment of effort for a gradual growth. There are many startup incubators in our country, who can help and groom you for a strategic growth of the company.

  9. Career opportunities after an engineering graduation is not limited to these five, there are ample opportunities out there for you to aspire and grab them into your fists. The best engineering colleges in Kerala provide quality education and training for students to equip them with professional skills for the career world out there in public and private sectors.
