  • To improve awareness of the nonprofit industry

  • To prepare and empower future leaders in service-related careers

  • To provide a channel of communication for industry professionals, future leaders, researchers & other interested parties

  • To build a network for of nonprofit professionals

High school class strategy l.jpg
High School Class Strategy

  • Pair one nonprofit specialist (Red Cross, Sierra Club, Humane Society) with MNPO student or professor in a classroom session.

  • Disseminate literature about the program and about volunteering at specific nonprofit.

  • Collect card data to continue tracking students as they make their college, career choice.

  • Create Database to follow-up with students and to keep them informed on MNPO activities and to help them build a relationship with nonprofit of choice.

  • Motivate visit to campus.

  • Keep them aware of internship/volunteer opportunities through newsletters

  • Research possible scholarships from nonprofit foundations (key motivator).

  • Schedule meetings with students in targeted clubs (Environmental Club, etc.)

  • Collect data card on student interests for database.

  • Provide connection to nonprofit groups with specific club issue.

  • Have a visible presence at several key local and Atlanta-metropolitan events (set up booth, pass out information, collect data cards)

  • Invite students to aid in efforts at event.

  • Establish booths at career fairs (including business fairs, health field fairs, etc.)

  • Focus on fairs on other campuses

  • Follow-up with interested candidates for MNPO program by disseminating contact card.

  • Work with students to aid in completion of MNPO application

  • Obtain list of all campus clubs.

  • Attend meetings of service/cause oriented clubs.

  • Utilize MNPO club to disseminate information about the program

  • Reserve space at table outside Tate Student Center

  • Contact other clubs at other universities

  • Send press releases to area campus newspapers or media outlets

  • Provide photos of service-related projects that include MNPO students or professors

  • Target events that are currently in the media, such as nonprofit get-out-the vote groups: That would build interest about what the program is doing.

  • Create Database to disseminate newsletter to career professionals.

  • Allow nonprofit groups to share space and links on MNPO website.

  • Establish MNPO presence at key charitable events.

  • Target nonprofit professionals participating in career day fairs.

  • Hold a one-day seminar.
