Balloon Angioplasty

In case restenosis (recurrence of artery or valve narrowing after

corrective surgery), the cutting balloon catheter with 3-5small blades at

tip is used to clear plaque on artery wall.

Recovery after Angioplasty

 Hospital stay of about 1-2 days

 Start walking within 2-6 hours

 Return to normal activities in a week

 Avoid physical activities, strenuous work or any kind of weight

lifting for about two weeks

 Gradual exercise regime as recommended by your doctor

 To prevent reoccurrence of the disease, maintain a healthy

lifestyle minus smoking, high cholesterol diet and weight gain
