  1. Article2: Makingsense-sg.com Know what is ‘O’ LEVEL AND ‘A’ LEVEL CHEMISTRY Chemistry is omnipresent in today’s era, from stars to dust; chemistry is an impetus. Apart from being paramount, this subject has also been strenuous for a maximum number of students. Both the theoretical part and the practical application part are nothing less than Pandora’s Box for the pupils. Therefore, it is pivotal that students strengthen their basics of chemistry from the very beginning. This will require extra training on the part of students in order to excel in the subject. The levels in the chemistry subject depend on the difficulty level of the same. There are two levels in this subject “O” level chemistrywhich is the ordinary level which usually covers topics like Experimental Techniques,Methods of Purification, Separation of Elements, Compounds & Mixtures, Kinetic Particle Theory, Atomic Structure & Ions, Chemical Bonding & Structure of Matter, Acids, Bases, Preparation of Salts, Formulae, Stoichiometry Mole Concept, Qualitative Analysis (QA), The Periodic Table & Group Trends, Metals & Reactivity Series, Speed of Reaction, Energy Changes, Redox Reactions, Electrolysis, Air & the Atmosphere, Ammonia, Organic Chemistry, Macromolecules to name some. Then there is “A” level chemistryalso known as advanced level, as the name suggests this level is at a higher pace than the previous one and covers the following topics- Physical chemistry consisting of Atomic structure, Kinetics, Energetics etc., Organic Chemistry consisting of Halogenoalkanes, Carboxylic acids, and derivatives, Polymers etc., and Inorganic Chemistry consisting of Periodicity, Transition metals etc. If a student is in the lower grade he or she can very well go with “O” level chemistry since it is for the beginners, and as and when he or she will move towards higher grades “O” level chemistry will be replaced by “A” level chemistry. When talking about these levels in terms of tuition and study schedule, “O” level chemistry will have comparatively relaxed and ease out classes schedule as compared to “A” level chemistry. Since the former is easy in relation to the latter one. Students can go for either group classes or a one-to-one basis for both “O” level chemistryand “A” level chemistry, depending upon their personal interest and capability. One thing which must be taken into consideration while studying these both levels is that the equal emphasis should be given to both theoretical and practical knowledge; after all chemistry is all about the application of the theoretical knowledge into the practical world. Here, the experience and the qualification of the tutor play a vital role; therefore, this should be checked upon when enrolling in tuition. Right tuition and an efficient tutor will make the subject easy and interesting for the students. Along with this regular test series and brainstorming sessions will increase the confidence level of the scholars, making them question and understand the topic rather than mugging up the content. Self-study and self-confidence along with these will ensure good results on the part of tutees which will enhance their approachability in this subject whether at “O” level or at “A” level. About the company: Making Sense specialises in Chemistry tuition for ‘A’ Level students. In addition to group tuition, we also offer personal consultations to students to ensure effective personalised learning. Our classes deliver in-depth knowledge and analysis of Chemistry concepts and principles to students. We use teaching methodologies specific to Chemistry that are effective in maximising learning.
