  2. ? Lets Go For A Round Of Questions… A pizza is cut into 3 pieces A,B and C. If A is half of the pizza and B is one-third of the pizza. What fraction of the pizza is C?

  3. What A Fraction Are Of The Whole Fractions? Fraction are a way to represent a number. What fraction tell us is that how many part of a whole number we have. Example: means we have one part out of the two needed to make a whole.

  4. Parts Of A Fraction • The top part of the fraction tells us how many parts of the whole number we have. • The bottom part of the fraction tells us how many parts make up the whole. Numerator (we have 1 part of the whole) Denominator (2 parts makes up the whole)

  5. Types Of A Fraction There are 3 types of fractions: • Proper fraction - • Improper fraction - • Mixed number - has a numerator that is less than the denominator. has a numerator that is greater than the denominator. contains a whole number part and a proper fraction part.   6. Converting Fraction • In order to solve some problems it will be necessary to change fractions from one type to another. • Mostly changing fraction to a decimal or a percentage.

  7. Examples 1. Add both numerators. check whether the denominators are same. If its same we can add the numerators. Check the sign whether it’s a subtraction, multiplication, addition or division.
