  3. Overview Aviation is the backbone of the global economy. As an introductory course, this course will amplify the importance of the global and regional tourism and airline systems to the students from an open system perspective. As a basic introduction to the discipline, this course will introduce the student to the basic principles of the airline, Tourism & Hospitality industry. The course will make the student focus on the intricate aspects of three major tourism industry components viz: accommodation, travel, and visitor services. This course will indicate how direct and indirect links between these components are mandatory for the very success of a country’s tourism industry and in turn the global tourism industry.

Programme Objective • To impart knowledge of Airlines, the Tourism and Hospitality Industry and global trends • To help students comprehend, analyze & problem-solving techniques in the airlines, tourism and hospitality industry. • To help students explore the use of digital systems in capturing information and utilizing it for customer services. • To enable them critically analyze various situations in airlines, tourism and hospitality. • To sharpen their communication skills related to airlines, tourism and hospitality. • To demonstrate the highest standards of ethical behavior in their professional life.
