    3. 1920’s 3 World Series Title 1920- The Yankees purchase Babe Ruth 1921- The Yankees clinch their first American League pennant 1923- Yankee Stadium opens 1924- Lou Gehrig begins his consecutive games streak 1927- Babe Ruth breaks single season homerun record

    4. 1930’s (5 Titles) 1932- Lou Gehrig becomes the first player to hit four homeruns in a game 1933- Babe Ruth hits his 700th homerun 1939- Lou Gehrig’s consecutive game streak ends 1934- The Yankees purchase Joe DiMaggio

    5. 1940’s (4 Titles) 1940- Lou Gehrig dies at the age of 37 1941- Joe DiMaggio finishes getting a hit in 56 straight games 1946- The first night game is played at Yankee Stadium 1947- Babe Ruth’s number “3” is retired

    6. 1950’s (6 Titles) 1950- Mickey Mantle makes his debut 1951- Joe DiMaggio retires 1953- Yankees win fifth consecutive Championship 1956- Don Larsen pitches the only perfect game in World Series history
