  2. Program Purpose Exercise Builder is intended to be an easy-to-use tool to assist individuals or groups developing DOE emergency exercises, drills and the required documentation.

  3. Step-by-Step Provides a step-by-step, prompted guide to developing the documents required for an exercise package.

  4. Site Information Stores specific site and ERO participant information that is automatically inserted into the exercise package.

  5. Contains pre-developed objectives, response steps, evaluation criteria, and evaluator checklists items for: • Incident Command (IC) • Duty Officer • Joint Information Center • Fire Department (FD) • Security Force • Emergency Medical Services (EMS) • Assembly Station • Field Monitoring Team Coordinating Center (FMT-CC) • Field Monitoring Team (FMT) • Technical Support Center (TSC) • Emergency Operation Center (EOC) • Combined TSC and EOC • NNSA/DOE HQ Watch Office and Operations • Radiological Assistance Program

  6. What is new in Exercise Builder 2008? Step 14 – After Action Reporting (AAR) • Allows for the entering of the Exercise Summary, Scenario and results from the evaluation of objectives. • Also allows for the entering of exercise Findings, Improvement Items, Superior Performance and Noteworthy Practices. • Generates multiple reports based on exercise evaluation results to be included as part of your After Action Report.

What is new in Exercise Builder 2008? • The reports that can be generated in Step 14 based on user-entered information: • Exercise Summary • Exercise Scenario • Performance Summary • Participant Performance Summary • Participant List and Levels of Participation • Findings • Improvement Items • Superior Performance • Noteworthy Practices • Exercise Objectives

What is new in Exercise Builder 2008? • Other modifications to Exercise Builder 2007 for the 2008 version: • Added the capability for users to add additional text to the system-generated exercise purpose statement in Step 2 - Scope. • The Objectives Editor now allows the user to edit response steps for user created objectives and response steps. • Added core objectives for the following state, county, city and tribal exercise participants: • County, City, and State Emergency Operations Centers • City and County Fire Departments • City and County Law Enforcement Agency • City and County Hospital/Medical Facility • State Duty Officer

Exercise Builder Development Cycle May – Release updated version at SIG Meeting June – Oct – Develop beta version for next release Oct. – Email User Survey to current users Nov./Oct. – Task group meets to determine and finalize changes for next release Dec - April – Program approved changes May – Release updated version at SIG Meeting
