  1. What is known as Resilience in Children ?

  2. Human beings are always faced with challenges and adversities in life. None of our life moves forward smoothly without problems, just like that children also tend to have issues relating to the loss of someone or bullying at home and things like that. Resilience can be said as the capability of an individual to overcome all these adversities with their available resources, strength and skills acquired in life. This doesn’t mean that they can’t feel or experience the issues, they can and they find ways to tackle them.

Resilience can be said as the capability of an individual to overcome all these adversities with their available resources, strength and skills acquired in life. This doesn’t mean that they can’t feel or experience the issues, they can and they find ways to tackle them.

There are ways in which resilience can be built in children and it can be easily done at the best group therapy centers where they get to interact with the other kids and learn how to cope with their situations just like the way others did. There are certain types of resilience that need to be fostered in children and they are:

  5. Psychological Resilience: This is said to be the mental strength of a child to withstand different adversities in life. It is the “mental fortitude”. With psychological resilience one can develop various coping strategies and mechanisms through which they remain calm and composed in difficult situations. Emotional Resilience: It is this ability to handle things well without getting overly emotional. Sensitive people are often saddened by the changes in life or the loss of someone. Whereas a child with emotional resilience knows exactly what they are feeling and why. They have a positive outlook towards everything in life even at difficult times.

  6. Physical Resilience: When faced with physical stress, illness, accidents and other physical restraints some children will lose their confidence and willpower. Physical resilience is actually the body's ability to cope with difficulties, maintain stamina and recover quickly. In order to have physical resilience one must keep proper rest and lifestyle choices in maintaining body balance. Community Resilience: his is this ability to cope with situations in social settings like any natural calamities or war or violent situations. Even bullying faced at school by a bunch of students requires strong resilience in withstanding the troublesome life at school.

  7. CONCLUSION: Resilience is very imperative for children as well as adults as they ensure a strong willpower in life.  Nobody's life goes smooth throughout, everyone must be prepared to face harsh realities, some face them with proper strategic plans and mental strength, while others don’t. To build resilience right from our childhood one can always send their children to attend the best group therapy institutes in Sharjah and other places for better resistant mechanisms while facing realities.
