  2. INTRODUCTION Separation Anxiety Disorder (SAD) is this continuous fear of getting separated from a child’s family or parents into an unfamiliar environment. This particular anxiety of being separated is quite common in children from 18 months to 3 years of old. And they kind of surpass the emotion towards the age of preschools and coming years. Yet there are some who still show certain reckless symptoms of anxiousness in their 4 to 6 years of age and it is then it is diagnosed as a disorder. The children with this disorder seem to have anxiety for a prolonged period of time per say 4 weeks continuously which is a serious issue.

  3. SAD is not limited to any particular gender; both male and female children suffer from this mental health problem. This can even be genetic, the children of parents who had SAD in childhood can develop symptoms of the disorder.
