  2. Session Abstract DVTS is a very useful and popular video application system widely used in global academic community. However, setting up a successful DVTS connection is a big challenge for both network administrators and end-users. End-system mis-configuration, bandwidth bottleneck and non-optimal inter-AS routing, etc, are the major issues, which may degrade the end-to-end video performance. The aim of this session is to provide an exchange and discussion platform focus on best practice on DVTS system configuration, DVTS-specific measurement for trouble shooting the network problem and inter-AS routing fine tune to ensure high bandwidth requirement. DVTS application users, application system engineers and network administrators are encouraged to participate this session and propose for more DVTS collaborations in telemedicine, art performance and other fields globally.

  3. Session Agenda • DVTS experience with telemedicine in Asia-pacific • Shuji Shimizu (APAN Medical WG), shimizu@surg1.med.kyushu-u.ac.jp • DVTS experience in CERNET2 • Congxiao Bao (CERNET/Tsinghua University,China), congxiao@cernet.edu.cn • International routing issues for DVTS • Yasuichi Kitamura (APAN Tokyo XP/NICT), kita@jp.apan.net • DVTS trouble-shooting for art event • Tom Marentette, (University of Notre Dame, U.S.A), tmarente@nd.edu • DVTS-specific measurement tools • Xing Li (CERNET/Tsinghua University,China), xing@cernet.edu.cn • discussion
