  1. Mrs. Black’s Classroom Expectations We will have a fun and successful year in second grade!!! 

  2. Why are we in school? • You as students are in school to learn! Your job is to be the best student you can be. • We learn best by completing our work, listening to the teachers and trying our best. • Remember learning can be fun! We want to have lots of fun and learn a lot this year!

  3. I Can… • Follow directions and listen carefully. • Be respectful to others. • Be respectful to property. • Use positive comments. • Try my best and smile 

  4. Our Class Color Chart*If you are choosing to break a rule, the following steps will be taken: Think and Plan *Any time you choose to change your behavior you may earn your way back to green.

  5. Morning Expectations • If you eat breakfast you must go to the cafeteria to eat. At 7:45 breakfast is over, you cannot eat breakfast in the classroom. • Sit outside the classroom until the teacher lets you into the room. • When you come into the room, first get your morning work off of the front table, then please go to your seat and wait until your teacher calls your number to hang up your coats/backpacks. Remember to bring your folder and Storytown book to your desk. • After putting your belongings away, start your morning and work quietly. • If you finish before others, you may get a book to read quietly or write your spelling words.

  6. You are expected to… • Come to school on time ready to learn!!!!! • Stay at your desk while working. • Raise your hand if you have a question or need help. • Keep your hands and feet to yourself while working and/or playing with others. • Clean up any activity once you are done. • Work out any problem with another student.

  7. Lunch Expectations • Line up for lunch quietly. • Walk to lunch with the class. • Stand in line without talking or touching others while waiting your turn to get your lunch. • Once you get your lunch sit down at the table assigned to our class. • Eat only your food and do not touch other’s food. • There is no yelling or throwing things in the lunchroom. • Once done clean up your mess. • An adult will let you know when lunch is over.

  8. Hallway Expectations • While walking in the hallways our mouths are closed and hands are by our sides. • We look at the person in front of us. • We walk on the white or blue tile. • We do not run anywhere! • We must stay with our teacher and stop when they ask.

  9. End of the Day Expectations • We will start getting ready to go home at 2:00. At this time work is to be put away and any activity should be cleaned up. • Our folders will be completed at this time. You will color in what color you received for the day. • You will be called to get your mail. • Finish any jobs you may have to do, then line up quietly. • Wait for everyone to get in line, then walk appropriately to where you need to go.
