  1. Pons Medical Research offers the most advanced technologies in the field of Assisted Reproduction. Among the current techniques we can mention ICSI. ICSI is the acronym for Intro-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection and consist of a procedure involving the injection of a healthy and viable spermatozoid directly into a mature oocyte. The ICSI Procedure is performed in a special ICSI bank with the use of a powerful microscope and very thin needles. ICSI IVF and PICSI is now the gold standard among IVF procedures because of the high success rate achieved with this method. After the fertilization is performed the eggs become embryos and are cultivated in the laboratory for 3 to 6 days in special incubators. Once the cultivation process is finished the embryos are ready to be transferred to the uterus of the surrogate mother or the biological mother and can be transferred immediately or be frozen and stored in liquid nitrogen until the transfer takes place. ICSI Fertility Treatment is now available in most of reproductive clinics albeit at a higher cost. Success rate using ICSI IVF and PICSI may be as high as 70% per attempt when using donor´s eggs and 50% per attempt when using own eggs. Our success rates are currently 50% and 67% respectively.
