3. Kodaikanal International School (KIS) is an autonomous, international, residential school located in South India offering education for Grades K-12. With a rich heritage spanning over a century since its establishment in 1901, KIS has been serving young people from diverse cultures and backgrounds to become leaders the world needs. We do this through a rigorous and broad college-oriented IB curriculum that emphasizes deep learning and critical thinking and celebrates the arts, music, sports, social justice, and environmental awareness.

4. The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) is designed for students aged 3 to 12, And focuses on the total growth of the developing child. It focuses on the total growth of the developing child, touching hearts as well as minds and encompassing social, physical, emotional and cultural needs in addition to academic development.

The Middle Years Program (MYP) caters to students aged 11-16 (grades 6-10), And is part of the International Baccalaureate’s 3-tier program of education, which goes from the primary years through the MYP to the Diploma Program. The MYP is designed to teach students to become independent learners who can recognize relationships between school subjects and the world outside and can adapt to new situations

6. At KIS the IB Diploma Program is optional and fully integrated into the US accredited KIS High School Diploma curriculum delivered to grades 11-12. The IB is a rigorous program which involves studying a minimum of six subjects, three at higher level (HL) and three at standard level (SL). Examination papers are set by the International Baccalaureate and marked externally.
