  2. Push is on for fine music • ARTS Mid North Coast has started the push for a regional conservatorium of music. It wants the Department of Education and Training to fund a centre for the Hastings, Taree, Great Lakes and Gloucester. Arts Mid North Coast CEO Richard Holloway believes it can be done with just over $100,000.Until now fine music education has been left to private institutions. To cater for growing populations in the lower part of the Mid North Coast, and to provide a less exclusive avenue for musical development, Mr Holloway said a conservatorium was a necessity.

  3. MENC • The National Association for Music Education. • The mission of MENC: The National Association for Music Education is to advance music education by encouraging the study and making of music by all. • Music allows us to celebrate and preserve our cultural heritages, and also to explore the realms of expression, imagination, and creation resulting in new knowledge. Therefore, every individual should be guaranteed the opportunity to learn music and to share in musical experiences.

  4. Classical Music We find classical music in movies, on television, and it even lends itself to today's popular music. It has a variety of classroom applications from art to math.
