What is wordle l.jpg

What is Wordle

“Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends.”

Sample Wordles

Fifth grade students worked on a research project about 1 of 3 species – Bats, Owls, or Spiders. Students worked in groups of 4-5 researching one of the three topics. They used INFOhio resources including EBSCO Animals and World Book to answer a series of questions and fill in a graphic organizer. Based on the information, they created a list of words describing the topic, typed the list and placed it on the wordle site. The wordle was saved, copied into Publisher and photos were added
