  1. Niram Upod (Treatment of Bedwetting) – A Case Study Bedwetting, also known as nocturnal enuresis is the unintentional passage of urine during sleep. It is the medical term of bedwetting. It could be the wetting of clothes during the day or bed or wetting of bed at night. Urinary incontinence is the other name for bedwetting. 2. Bedwetting Among Children For every young child and infant, urination is involuntary. Most of the kids attain some degree of urinary control by the age of 4 years. Control during the daytime is usually attained first while the nighttime control comes late. However, the age when this control comes varies considerably. Most of parents want their children to gain control over their urinary habits. Following are some of the causes of bedwetting among children: •Gender is important in this problem. It has been found that this problem is more common in boys as compared with girls. •Development of the child. •The overall physical and emotional health of the child. Some sort of chronic illness or emotional or physical abuse may cause bedwetting. •There are many psychological factors also behind this trouble. If the child does not feel social security or has problems at school then you need counseling of the child. It could help a lot.   3. Hormonal Imbalance: Antidiuretic hormone (ADH) signals that the kidneys slow down the production of urine. As a result, the body produces more of this hormone at night. This helps in limiting the need to urinate while the person is asleep. However, in case this hormone is not produced in sufficient quantity, it leads to bedwetting at night. Small Bladder: A small bladder isn’t actually small in size. In fact, feels full even with a low quantity of urine. It might result in bed-wetting at night. Such people need bladder training. It helps in practicing holding urine for a longer time. Overactive Muscles: Detrusor muscles are the muscles of the gall bladder. When the bladder fills they relax when there is time to empty it contracts. If these muscles do not function properly then it is difficult to control urination. Cancer: Tumours of bladders and prostrate can block or obstruct the urinary tract. This may lead to an inability to hold urine, especially during the night. Diabetes Mellitus: When the blood sugar level is high, the number of urination increases as a result it leads to the inability to hold urine especially during the night.
