Task #1: You are a DJ that must create 1 hour worth of music for a Math Dance.

You will keep a running time of your songs.

Task #2: You will find the measures of central tendencies of your data.

In simple terms, the mean, median, mode, and range of your data.

Task #3 You will present your findings through an oral presentation to the class.

Explaining the math correlations.

Brief biography of Artists.

Distribute a hard copy of the completed DJ itinerary worksheet

You are the DJ. (hardcopy printout)

*Your task is to create 1 hour of music for the Math Dance.

*On the spreadsheet provided on the next page, list the song titles, artists, year recorded, genres, and time of each song.

*Each song must have a correlation to mathematics, either in the title or the artist. (Check out myexamples)

*No song may be over 7 minutes long.

*You may not use more than 2 songs from each artist.

* You must keep a running time of the songs.

CONCLUSION

I feel that music is the universal language. I hope that this was a fun and educational experience. If you get a chance to come to Lopatcong Middle School on March 14th(Pi day) you will hear a rock’n live version of the Pi Song!
