Jonathan Ortecho - The Important Aspects of Swimming Pool Maintenance

Each pool is different, and so are the maintenance needs. But they all share one common trait-they all require regular, routine care. It's the key to a longer pool life. Even if you rely on a pool service company to take care of your pool maintenance, you still need to take on a few tasks on your own.

  1. The Important Aspects of

  2. When your swimming pool’s components and water aren’t properly cared for and maintained, then the pool’s water quality gets seriously contaminated.

  3. A clean pool not only should visually look fresh but also it needs to have the necessary chemicals at the proper levels.

  4. By incorporating proper pool maintenance tips into a regular cleaning routine, you can ensure that you’ll spend more time sunbathing than doing chores.

  5. There are mainly three fundamental aspects of pool maintenance- Circulation Cleaning Chemistry

  6. Circulation is often overlooked, but it's the most important aspect of pool maintenance which is very easy to be carried out.

  7. Proper water circulation means movement of the top layer of the water which allows removal of contaminants from the pool.

  8. There must be the use of efficient filters and pumps which are capable of running indefinitely in the pools for the best circulation.

  9. A pool that has good circulation will rarely have issues like algae and cloudy water.

  10. The pool water and the surfaces must be cleaned in order to keep the water fit for use and avoid any risk of infections.

  11. Skimming the leaves and debris off the surface of the water should be done on a regular basis.

  12. Also, scrub the sides of the pool with a scrub brush to keep the surface look fresh and clean and to prevent algae build-up.

  13. The floors and walls can also be cleaned by the use of a vacuum machine which may be manual or automatic.

  14. The benefit of checking your chemistry regularly is that your pool is always ready to use because it doesn’t have time to get significantly out of whack.

  15. The levels of chlorine required depend on a number of factors, including how long your filter cycle is, your pool usage and your pool’s environment.

  16. The pool’s ecosystem is very fragile and a low alkalinity can lead to deterioration of your pool’s surfaces.

  17. A neutral pH level of 7 is ideal and any count above 7 indicates high alkalinity, whilst a pH level below 7 means high acidity.

  18. Without a proper maintenance routine, your pool could succumb to a variety of less- than-luxurious conditions like green water, broken filters, and algae build up.

  19. Multiple treatments and means of protecting the health and safety standards of your swimming pool are necessary in order to reduce hazards such as infection, rashes, and injury.

  20. When these guidelines aren’t followed and professional pool services aren’t sought out when needed, you are putting those who enjoy the benefits of your swimming pool at risk.
