The bill, known as the EB-Job Act of 2015, was introduced on July 30, 2015 by U.S. Representatives, Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.) and Luis V. Gutiérrez (D-Ill.) According to immigration lawyer Al Zucaro of Boca Raton, this new bill is very important to continue America’s economic growth. Besides providing the necessary reforms for the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program, the new bill will also led to a new category for green cards to be created for entrepreneurs who take advantage of the bill while creating more American jobs and stimulating the U.S economy. Accommodations There are two types of entrepreneurships that will be accommodated by the program and result in a conditional green card. This includes venture capital-backed start-up entrepreneurs as well as self- sponsored start-up entrepreneurs. Each requires a handful of stipulations to be met in order to qualify. The EB-Jobs Act will also grant legal residency E2 treaty investment holders who have maintained their status for 10 years while creating 5 jobs over the course of time that have been established positions for at least 10 years. Additionally, this piece of legislation is responsible for permanently reauthorizing the Conrad State 30 J- 1 Visa Waiver Program, a program that aims to address shortage of qualified doctors in areas medically underserved. It also reauthorized two other programs set to expire for another five years each, which includes the E-Verify and Special Immigration Non minister Religious Worker programs. Al Zucaro has elaborated how such initiatives will increase the allure of Palm beach County and the surrounding area to foreign investors. Increasing international business in the area will have profound benefits for the economy and the citizens.
