  1. Naming a Regional Center? Seek Boca Raton’s Al Zucaro for Guidance through Restrictions The Public Engagement Division of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is dedicated to providing customer service to those in needs. The department is responsible for providing straightforward and detailed information that addresses the needs and concerns of the public in a timely fashion. They also distribute important reminders and general information regarding immigration law – an area of interest for local lawyers like Al Zuacro. One of their latest releases reminded stakeholders that EB-5 regional centers should not contain the words “U.S.”, “Federal”, “United States” or “US” in the centers’ names. Using the before mentioned terms in the name of any of the numerous EB-5 regional center located around the country could give the false impression of an established relationship between the center, the United States government, USCIS and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). If a center does use any of the terms in their name, websites and social sites, or any promotional or marketing materials could be subject to violating federal laws regarding false or misleading advertising. One of the best ways to avoid running into a problem like this is to look at a regional center not violating this requirement. An ideal example would be the Palm Beach Regional Center established in 2008 by Al Zucaro – an immigration lawyer based in Boca Raton. This center does not use any terms to violate any laws and is compliant with the USCIS. Also, stay on top of any updates publically provided by the USCIS’s Public Engagement Division. Further action can also be taken against a regional center that is using these terms in its name. The Immigrant Investor Program Office (IPO) may refer the offending center to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to investigate into whether additional action needs to be taken. Furthermore, the IPO

  2. can refer regional centers, and any related enterprises of the center, who use the terms “Federal” or “United States” in their titles to the Department of Justice to pursue additional action. For any concerns regarding the name of your EB-5 regional center, contact Al Zucaro lawyer. His extensive knowledge and experience can be very beneficial to guide you through the process.
