  1. CDF CADWEB San Luis Obispo Unit Overview and Instructions

CADWEB Overview • CADWEB is a web application that allows Intranet/Internet users to view and change/update selected information in CAD. • Incidents, Stations and Resources may be viewed in CADWEB. • Resource status and staffing may be updated. SLU will currently only utilize the staffing update functionality. • The instructional (setup) information presented in this PowerPoint may be printed from the last slide.

  3. CADWEB Procedures • CADWEB Rosters will start 12/1/07. • CADWEB Rosters shall be completed by 0900 hours each day. • CDF Unit coverage will continue to be stated on local net each morning.

  4. CADWEB Login Select the CADWEB Web Site by clicking the link below. This Web Site may be accessed from the CDF Intranet only. This site is not accessible from the internet. http://caditsint1/cadweb/CadWebLogon.aspx. The following link may be accessed from the internet. https://cadweb.fire.ca.gov/CadWebLogon.aspx

  5. CADWEB Login Future access to this site may be eased by making a shortcut on your computer desktop. This can be accomplished by dragging the explorer icon from the left side of the address field to your desktop.

  6. CADWEB Security Several settings must be adjusted to properly interact with the security associated with this Web Site. Select from the explorer menu: Tools > Internet Options. Select the Security tab then the Trusted Sites icon from the “Select a zone to view or change security settings” box.

  7. CADWEB Security Single Click “Sites”: Uncheck box at bottom. Enter the following under the “Add this website to the zone:” http:/caditsint1 Single Click “Add.” Item should move to the Websites box below. Single Click “Close” or “OK”.

  8. CADWEB Security With “Trusted Sites” selected at the top, Single Click “Custom Level…” Scroll to the setting: “Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe for scripting” Select the “Enable” radio button Single Click “OK” Single Click “OK”

  9. CADWEB Login Enter the following Data to Login: Unit: SLU Agency: CAD User ID: Password: Contact ECC for password Single Click “>Sign-On”

  10. CADWEB Login If the box above is displayed, the security settings described on the previous pages have not been completed correctly. Check settings and try again.

  11. CADWEB Rostering The “Update Resource” screen should now be displayed. This screen allows the user to update resource staffing and status. Currently SLU is only allowing staffing changes via this screen. The following instructions will document the process to update resource staffing. This process will be referred to by the ROSS nomenclature as rostering.

  12. CADWEB Rostering Select the resource needing update from the “Update Resource” popup list. Single Click “>Select” This process displays the current status and roster for the selected resource (see next slide).

CADWEB Rostering The following information is displayed: The Resource B3413 is a CAD resource Type BAT belonging to the Agency CASLU and is Logged On and its current Status AIQ (Available in Quarters). The absence of an Incident Number indicates that this resource is not on an incident. This resource has no roster as no personnel are displayed in the “Assigned Personnel” Box.

  14. CADWEB Rostering Personnel may be Added to the “Assigned Personnel” box by selecting names from the “Other Personnel” box and Single Clicking the “Add” button. Similarly, personnel may be removed from the “Assigned Personnel” box by selecting names from the “Assigned Personnel” box and Single Clicking the “Remove” button.

  15. CADWEB Rostering To commit the roster changes made (see previous slide) to the unit CAD system the “Update Roster” command must be executed. Select the “Update Roster” command from the “Action” box, then Single Click the “>Execute Action” button.

  16. CADWEB Rostering If staffing for a resource remains the same from one day to the next, the roster shall be updated with the comment “No Staffing Change”. Comments may be added to any action by entering them into the “Comment” field prior to executing the action.

  17. CADWEB Additional Information Additional CADWEB Functions All open incidents may be displayed by Single Clicking “Display Incidents.” All resources logged on resources may be displayed by Single Clicking “Display Resources.” All stations may be displayed with associated resources by Single Clicking “Display Facilities.”

  18. CADWEB Instructions The word document to the left may be printed to assist in the configuration and use of CADWEB. Contact the SLU ECC if you have any questions or concerns.
