  2. Reptile Class • Reptiles have backbones and breath through their lungs. • All reptiles are cold-blooded • There are over 1,600 different types of reptiles. • Reptiles usually have four legs with horny scales or bony plates.

  3. Snake Adaptation • Pits help snakes to have outstanding highly sensitive temperatures called infrared heat rays. • Snakes use their long venomous fangs to kill prey. • Snakes use their forked tongues to smell.

  4. Snake Details • Snakes have long, legless bodies covered with scales. • Snakes live in forest, streams, oceans, lakes, and deserts. • Snakes have hollow or grooved fangs in their upper jaws.
