New Prague High School Wrestling Alumni Meet When: December 1, 2007 @ 5:00 (immediately following the New Prague Invitational) Where: New Prague High School Gymnasium Why: Support the New Prague Wrestling Team and its Booster Club Alumni will wrestle other alumni according to weight and age. Cost: $15.00 (Includes a t-shirt and two matches). Free admission for fans, donations are appreciated. Come to watch the Trojans wrestle and stay for the alumni meet.   3. Halloween Cookie Decorating for Kids All ages* Come and decorate your favorite Halloween goblins! Enjoy decorating two-dozen cookies that you get to take home after class. Everything is supplied, all you have to do is make those cookies scary! *All ages welcome, but kids under 8 must be with an adult.   6. New Prague Community BandGrade 8 – Adult • Join our community band for several local and metro area performances already scheduled for fall and winter! If you are 8th grade and older and want to continue playing great music with great people, here’s a great opportunity for you! Some instruments may be available if you need one. This New Prague band continues to be a very socially • and musically rewarding group. Join us!

  7. Hymnus ChoirAll Ages Hymnus, a Minnesota non-profit based in New Prague, is a high standard choir comprised of members of all ages and faiths in the greater New Prague area. Under the direction of Brian T. Carson, Hymnus has performed locally, and abroad, including venues at Westminster Abbey in London, Saint Marks, Venice Italy the Basilica of Saint Peter’s in Vatican City, and most recently, Carnegie Hall in New York City. Hymnus venues for 2007-2008 include All Saints Catholic Church in Lakeville, the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, the annual New Prague Community Christmas Concert, and other concerts to be announced. A second round of auditions will be held in September, and interested parties should call Mary Zard at 952-201-9753, or e-mail Dr. David Saunders at choirmaster@Hymnus.us to reserve a time.   8. Adult Open Volleyball Open to men & women, ages 16 and up Competitive, but fun! If you are looking for some good exercise and an opportunity to play and interact with others, this is for you. Come as often as you like—teams are formed each evening of play. Low-stress, no “cut-throat” play, and no long-term commitment to a league. No pre-registration necessary; pay coordinator at site.   9. Age 12 through Adult, Advanced Beginner Skills You will create a bracelet using Swarovski crystal beads. These whimsical patterns are fun to create and make a great gift. You have the choice to learn one or both patterns.   10. Beaded Wire Jewelry Age 12 through Adult, Beginner Skills Learn the art of basic wire wrapping. With your new skills, make a beautiful bracelet and matching earrings. Bring a round-nose pliers, flat-nose pliers, and a wire cutter.   11. Clay Treasures A Treasure Chest made out of clay! Each student receives 2 lbs. of red earthenware clay and a template, and learns how to make their own treasure chest. Add handles, use tools and make jewels out of clay, or carve out or add any designs to decorate your treasure chest. The instructor will fire and glaze the project and return it to school within 4 weeks. They are colorful! This is an 1-½ hour class. Dress for a mess!   17. Educating Trainman A Mother-Son Story of Autism This is the story of a young man with autism—in his own words. What began as a goal in self-advocacy and disclosure has evolved into a tag-team presentation between mother and son. Stefan and Barb talk about how autism affects their lives, as well as what schools, teachers, and parents can do to help a child with autism navigate the world. Their message is one of hope and discovery. Stefan Kavan is a junior at New Prague High School. He loves to draw, travel, bike, ride four-wheelers, and jump on the tramp. After graduating, he hopes to work for the railroad. Barb Kavan is a Special Education Coordinator and Adapted Physical Education Teacher for New Prague Area Schools.   18. “Czech” Out Your Heritage Preserve the past for the future. Join the Czech Heritage and Social Club. The focus is to preserve the current Czech culture in our community. We will explore the past and present of this era and adopt new customs to revive the past. This club meets the second Wednesday of the month on the second floor at the New Prague City Hall.   19. Beginner Computer Computers are wonderful tools for a huge number of things, but if you don’t know all the things that you can do with them you are missing a lot! This class focuses on basic computer terms, functions, and programs; accessing the different “tools” and programs that are already in your computer; setting up and using email and the Internet; and step-by-step instruction and practice in getting the most from your computer without getting totally confused.   24. 55-Alive: Defensive Driving8 hour courseAARP Drivers’ Safety Program is an innovative classroom retaining program for persons age 50 or older that isdesigned to help improve skills. Minnesota State Law requires all insurance companies to give a premium deductionto all persons 50 years of age and older who complete this accident prevention course. Persons who participate inthe program may also qualify to become instructors. Please indicate the session number on the registration form.   26. Memorize Basic Math Facts the Easy Way! For kids in grades 1 through 5 Listen carefully in this class and you will have all the memory tricks that will make adding, subtracting and multiplying easy. Parents are welcome at no charge and are encouraged to attend. The first night focuses on adding and subtracting skills. On the second night you will learn multiplication memorization, tricks. The answers to math problems will quickly be a “piece of cake” if you know the memory tricks that will give you the answers. Bring a notebook and pencil to class.   27. Division with Remainders the Easy Way!For kids in grades 4, 5 & 6 Two- and three-digit numbers divided into three- and four-digit numbers can be a challenge to students. This class will show techniques that will make it easy! Plan on playing some fun math games, too. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend with their child.   28. Learn to DRAW fun things… Cartoons, horses, cars & more! Using objects that children like to draw, students learn principles of shading, perspective, and the use of color to improve their drawing skills. If you like to draw, you probably had a favorite thing you liked to draw—most children do. We’ll use photos, pictures, and other things that lots of young people like to draw. This class will help develop the skills to draw them even better than ever. Turn on your creativity! Date: Saturdays, November 3 & 10 Time: 12 – 1:30 p.m..   29. Snowmobile Safety Training This safety training course covers basic survival for the snowmobiler. MN State rules and regulations are presented. The wearing of proper clothing and familiarizing the students with the machine itself and its basic maintenance are all covered. You will learn proper snowmobiling etiquette and complete the class knowing you are a responsible driver. You must be 12 by the testing date of class (the last day). * Parents are requested to come in with their child the first day and sign a waiver form.
