Barrow Youth Action Group We Introduced craft events – beading, mask making, biscuit decorating, T-shirt painting, tile decorating, badge making, glass painting, encaustic art, Christmas crafts outdoor events – dog training, pavement art, BBQ, climbing tower, face painting, canoeing, steam train trip

  10. Barrow Youth Action Group Generally we don’t charge for the outdoor events (except BBQ). All expenses are covered by funding. Opportunity for lots of people to join in. We do charge a nominal fee for indoor events as spaces are limited, we may need to buy materials, sometimes pay for teachers, and people are then committed. Consent forms (including for photo’s) for all activities.

  11. Barrow Youth Action Group Advertising is done locally – posters in local businesses (about 20) flyers to scouts, brownies, sports clubs etc, Barrow Voice, What’s On, and sometimes in the free newspapers Tickets with consent form on back are sold at the local High Street news agent.

  12. Barrow Youth Action Group In conjunction with • Tall Ships Trust – we organised for 2 young people to go on voyages • Detached Youth Workers – 6 of them did some community work and then went on a scuba “try dive”. • Also helped sponsor other events for the Youth Group.
