  1. Pharmaffiliates-World leaders of Deuterated Compounds

  2. What is Isotope Labeling • Substitution of an atom or ion with an isotope of the same element • The atom or the ion to be substituted must be present in its stable isotopic form • Main isotopes routinely used are1H, 2H, 13C and 15N, with a more sparse use of 31P, 19F and 17O. • Chosen isotope can act as a label on that compound and can be identified through nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR) and mass spectrometry(MS).

  3. Isotope Labels - Classification Stable Isotopes • 2H and13C, which can be detected by IR and NMR spectroscopy Radioactive Isotopes • 3H and 14C which can be measured radiochemical

  4. Isotope labels - Uses • Used in chemistry and biochemistry to understand reaction mechanisms, metabolic pathway, metabolic transformations and interactions because : • They have different masses and can be detected by Mass Spectroscopy(MS) • Isotopic molecules have different vibration modes which can be detected by IR and NMR

  5. Deuterium Labels - General • Deuterium is a naturally-occurring, stable, non-radioactive isotope of Hydrogen • Deuterium(D) or 2H is widely used for labeling • Due to high abundance of Hydrogen in nature and cheap prices • Prepared by hydrogen–deuterium (H/D) exchange reaction using either D2 or D2O along with the catalyst.

  6. Deuterium Labels-Applications • Deuterium labeled standards are broadly employed in organic chemistry, organometallic chemistry, enzymology, spectroscopy, pharmacology, and many other fields • Applications are: • Study of reaction mechanism • Study Biosynthetic pathway • Internal standard for Mass Spectroscopy • Improve metabolic stability of drug

  7. Pharmaffiliates- Leading suppliers of Deuterium compounds • Over 10,000 Deuterium labeled compounds available • Pack sizes of 1mg and 10mg • Customized pack sizes also available • Each standard is provided with Certificate Of Analysis • All the supporting data with chromatograms are also provided • Delivered in desired time frame in a cost efficient manner

  8. Pharmaffiliates-As a CRO • Leading manufacturers of impurity standards, Chemical Intermediates, Drug Metabolites, Drug analogs, Analytical Standards and reference standards worldwide • Also deals in Phytostandards, Petrochemicals, Food and beverage standards, and Environmental standards • State of art Research and Development department, with a core team of scientists having an expertise in chemistry. • Subject matter experts, who are engaged in the synthesis of impurities and metabolites of APIs and FPs • Identification and synthesis of degradants and impurities, that are new and challenging • Provides Full Time Equivalent (FTE) based projects
