  4. Charge of the Committee Create a series of programs which all WAA Chapters can execute which engage alumni in the 150th celebration. Feature the accomplishments of local alumni, the history of local chapters and the contributions UW graduates make in their community.

  5. Geo Outreach Committee Goals • Involve new alumni participants • Deepen the engagement of active alumni • Create new traditions • Allow all alumni to participate in 150th activities • Build excitement for 150th events in Madison

  6. Programs for 2010-2011 Enhanced and expanded Founders’ Day Alumni Lecture Series Alumni Community Service Project 150th Birthday Celebration, with Babcock Ice Cream!

  7. Founders’ Day 2011 • Special DVD celebrating 150 years of alumni involvement. • Every Chapter honors a local alumni with the “Badger of the Year” award. • Fun facts and history of the chapter program, combined with local chapter history and recognition. • Uniform event program.

  8. Alumni Lecture Series • Lecture featuring alumni in your community. • Free or very low cost events. • Engage community, business or not for profit leaders, celebrities or interesting UW-Madison alumni. • Create a new and engaging program that is low cost and attracts a different type of alumni participant.

  9. Drive for School Supplies • Provide an opportunity for alumni to give back to their community. • Connect with local schools and community groups. • Promote chapter scholarship program and UW-Madison admission. • Complement UW’s commitment to needs-based financial aid. • Deliver a large dose of Badger spirit and fun!

  10. WAA 150th Birthday Party June 26, 2011 • Hold a fun, family centered event in the summer or early fall. • Combine with your student send-off or create a new summer tradition. • FREE BABCOCK ICE CREAM!!!!

  12. What Will WAA Provide? • WAA 150th Celebration Chapter Guide • Invitation (via e-mail) to all alumni to nominate Badger of the Year recipients. Names will be forwarded to Chapters. • “Create the Ice Cream Contest” – Inviting all alumni to suggest the ingredients for the 150th Babcock Ice Cream flavor. • Special WAA Birthday Card sent to all alumni, June 26, 2011.

More - What will WAA provide? • Special 150th media materials, DVD, logo’s, facebook headers, e-mail templates, web design. • 150thtschoskis, table tents, stickers, banners and give-aways. • Plaques for Badger of the Year Award. • Research on history of chapters and history of your chapter. • Lists of alumni VIP’s and potential lecture series speakers. • Graphic design and production assistance. • WAA staff resources. • FREE BABCOCK ICE CREAM!

WAA 150th Graphic Images The images used for WAA celebration events in 2011, including the Founders' Day invite, are consistent with the overall150th Anniversary marketing and graphics campaign. The illustrations you will see throughout the year are from a mural painted in the "On, Wisconsin!" room in the Red Gym. The mural features multiple stylized illustrations of Bucky Badger conveying the tradition and spirit felt by so many who have passed through the doors of this great university.The mural was painted in 2003 by Avis and Tony Erickson.
