  3. Arthroscopy Arthroscopy or Arthroscopic surgery is a surgical procedure used to identify, visualize and treat any issues within joints using a special instrument called an arthroscope. Arthroscope is afiberoptic tube containing a small camera or lens and lighting equipment to magnify and illuminate joint anatomy. The camera mounted to the arthroscope projects pictures of joint structures on a television screen, allowing surgeons to inspect the joint or other areas, such as ligaments, cartilage, and tendons to perform the repair.

  4. Fracture Globally, the incidence of fractures has increased dramatically in recent years. It is due to the fast-paced lifestyle, increased injuries and lack of exercise that leads to weak bones (Osteoporosis) and a longer life expectancy. Nearly everybody knows someone who has suffered from a bone fracture. Although fractures are a very common problem, there is not much information on how to properly treat them. While fractures can’t be completely avoided, there are ways you can reduce your risk. A way to minimize your fracture risk is to build stronger bones, and keep them healthy.

  5. Knee Replacement Surgery • Knee replacement surgery is the treatment for end stage knee arthritis. You can determine if you have end stage arthritis from one of the following symptoms; • Inability to walk inside the house even for routine activities like going to the kitchen or the loo. • Inability to sleep at night due to pain • You have a sensation of knee buckling under you when doing routine activities • Once you have any of the above symptoms, you can rest assured that no amount of tablets or physiotherapy can help you anymore. However, you will benefit immensely from a knee replacement surgery.

  6. Hip replacement surgery Hip replacement surgery is considered amongst the most successful operations in all of medicine. Since the early 1960s, improvements in surgical techniques and technology have tremendously increased the effectiveness of total hip replacement. Patients are able to go from being bedridden to walking freely without support within few days of surgery. The most typical cause of long duration hip pain and functional disability is arthritis. In hip replacement surgery, the damaged cartilage and bone is shaved and replaced by prosthetic parts.

  7. Sports Medicine Sport medicine is concentrated on preventing and treating injuries resulting from sports or exercise. A sports physician like Dr. Ganesh Navaneedhanis the best person to assist you. Apart from being capable of quickly diagnosing and treating these kinds of injuries, the main advantage of a sports medicine doctor is the ability to use alternative techniques to avoid having to undergo surgery. Doctors of sports medicine not just treat injuries but teach you how to take care of injuries while staying in good shape. Most often, they handle non-surgical treatment for injuries to bones, muscles, or joints

  8. Physiotherapy Physiotherapists diagnose and manage injuries and disorders of the musculoskeletal structure and help patients recover from surgical procedures. They have been trained to treat joints after surgery, injuries to sports, arthritis, amputations, etc. Strength training, Joint mobilizations, cold and hot packs, as well as electrical stimulation, are some of the methods employed to speed up healing in the orthopedic setting. Dr Ganesh has an excellent team of physiotherapists who specialize in rehabilitation of patients with sports injuries, strains, sprains, fractures and who have undergone joint replacement surgery. .

  9. Spine Surgery Neck problems and Low back pain are two of the most common issues related to the spine. Many back problems can be caused by injury to the muscle, nerve, disc, or ligament. Poor posture can lead to spinal injuries and nerve damage. Only a very small number of people suffering from neck or back pain will need to have spine surgery. Dr Ganesh is an expert on spine injuries in Trivandrum who can assess the cause of your back pain and recommend spine surgery when all other treatment options have failed.

  10. Anterior cruciate ligaments (ACL) • Anterior cruciate ligaments (ACL) injuries are more common in sports people. It can also occur in a non sporting scenario such as road traffic accident or a simple fall down the stairs resulting in twisting injury to the knee. The primary purpose of the ACL is to keep the tibia (shin bone) from sliding forward and turning on the femur (thigh bone) in the knee joint. • Symptoms that commonly occur • A “pop” from the knee can be heard or felt. • Pain or discomfort in the Knee. • Swelling and Discolouration of the knee • Restriction in knee range of movement.

  11. Shoulder Dislocation Treatment The shoulder joint can move in a wide range of directions depending on the function of many bones, ligaments, soft tissues, and tendons. A shoulder dislocation happens when the top portion of the upper arm bone (ball of the shoulder) slips out from the cup-shaped socket (glenoid). A dislocation can cause severe pain and instability in the shoulder. If the shoulder is partially dislocated, it is called shoulder subluxation.

  12. Tennis Elbow Treatment Medically known as lateral epicondylitis, tennis elbow is a common condition especially for people in sports specifically like tennis or anything that involves a racquet where the person tends to apply more pressure and force to the elbow than the usual. It also occurs in common people where they overuse the elbow for any sort of work. Treatment for the tennis elbow is the need of the hour as the pain can be excruciating at times disrupting the normal activity.Tennis elbow is primarily caused by a temporary damage to the specific forearm muscle due to excessive use of the elbow or sudden force or pressure applied to the region.
