Instructors require digital skills • We live in a digital era, in which technological advancements have become an intrinsic part of and have profoundly impacted every facet of our daily lives: the way we communicate, work, enjoy our leisure time, organize our lives, and source knowledge and information.

Digital world • Because the digital world is here to stay and will continue to evolve, there are strong initiatives and a lot of interest at the international, European, national, and regional levels in equipping teachers with the skills they need to fully exploit the potential of digital technologies for improving teaching and learning, as well as adequately preparing young people for life and work in a digital society.
