  1. Hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating is really a typical condition which affects many people. Palmar hyperhidrosis or sweaty palms are the most common form of hyperhidrosis, causing abnormal sweating of the hands. Hyperhidrosis can also cause excessive foot, underarm and facial perspiring. It is believed which hyperhidrosis is really a result of over activity of the sympathetic nervous system. Many patients visit a dermatologist for hyperhidrosis. The doctor will start the diagnostic process with a physical examination. Hyperhidrosis

  2. Hyperhidrosis affects all aspects of life, including work and related professional activities, the activities of daily living and normal, interpersonal social actions. Sweaty hands can occur while meeting someone for the first time, through nervousness or emotional distress. Because hands are exposed in social and professional settings, many patients with Hyperhidrosis are self-conscious and may avoid social contact. They may be reluctant to shake hands or handle paperwork. Patients have even been embarrassed to hold the hands of those they love.

  3. For the most current and firsthand accounts about hyperhidrosis treatments and treatment combination results, it is best to check out the hyperhidrosis forum on this site. From my own experiences of having tried numerous treatments over the years, iontophoresis offers the best results of all nonsurgical treatments. Hyperhidrosis Treatments A typical order of experimenting with treatments is presented below. Alternative treatments such as meditation and breathing exercises (to possibly control your sympathetic nervous system) can be attempted too, although very few people manage to become experts at these skills due to the nature of the world and lifestyle we live in. It is interesting to note that most hyperhidrosis patients notice a cessation in sweating after drinking alcohol or right after waking up in the morning. And we do not sweat from our hands, feet, face or armpits when fully asleep.

  4. HYPERHIDROSIS CAUSES -- WHY PEOPLE GET EXCESSIVE SWEATING According to various studies, for anywhere from 20 to 50 percent of patients hyperhidrosis represents a genetic condition that is not linked to any underlying medical condition. It seems like Asian and Jewish people have a much greater rate of prevalence of hyperhidrosis than other races. No wonder that the world's most experienced ETS surgeon, Chien-Chi Lin, is based in Taiwan, and is responsible for the major innovations in ETS surgical technique since the 1990s. Also, Israel, which is about 75 percent Jewish (50/50 split between Ashkenazi/Sephardic and Mizrahi), accounts for a very high number of ETS surgeries every year even though it has a small population. Several of the most experienced surgeons in the US also initially learned to perform sympathectomy in Israel.

  5. Almost all well known surgeons no longer offer sympathectomy for the sole purpose of eliminating excessive armpit sweating. I think it is a very bad decision to have ETS surgery if you only have localized hyperhidrosis in the armpit area. For a lot of people, excessive armpit sweating is not bothersome once they apply deodorants or antiperspirants. For others, Botox is often highly effective at stopping armpit sweating for at least six months at a stretch. Even various types of sweat gland excision surgeries in the armpits are potential solutions that are far less invasive than ETS. A new laser sweat ablation procedure seems to be quite effective at significantly reducing armpit sweating. Read more information on Hyperhidrosis at - www.no-ets.com
