  1. Article 3: Horizontech.com THE EVOLUTION OF CLOUD BASED SERVICES When Homo sapiens grew, they transformed themselves beautifully into humans from apes. They grew a little and then the understood the basic needs of human like food, clothing, and shelter. Then they started developing more, they made farms for growing food, wells for water, bricks for home. Necessities give birth to utilities. Same concept applies to the business computing and cloud computing is the newest utility that has been built up. Traditionally companies built their own in –house IT infrastructure catering to the technical needs. It usually involved expensive equipments, servers that are installed locally and too much of hard work to meet the needs. But now the things have changed with rise of cloud computing and just like we buy the basic utility for our day to day needs, similarly we can buy IT infrastructure as a service. Cloud computing companies provide the provision to the user to log into a web based service that runs all the programs that are necessary for completing the job. Now this cloud computing service provider basically runs everything ranging from word processing to emailing and other complex data software programs. In fact the word cloud means a network of computers that handles all the assigned tasks. The cloud computing service providers charge for maintenance and management of data inputs by the clients. If there is any big thing in the world of computers then it’s probably cloud computing. It thus provides the solution for all kind and sizes of business but proves really fruitful for middle and small sized ones. All one requires is a basic computer system, with internet and a web browser. Cloud computing is now the lifeline of organization that seeks a simple solution to the compound problem of choosing a software as per each employee’s area of work. The finest examples of cloud computing is Gmail, Amazon web services. Google applications allow the web browser to help the user to access the application whenever he wants. It would be very interesting to know and understand how cloud computing works. Basically the structural design of any cloud computing service provider is divided into two categories - front end and back end. Front end is controlled by the end user or client or let say the web browser who actually uses the cloud services. Then there is another part called the back end which is the network of servers with any computer program and data storage that runs and maintains the cloud. Cloud has an administration system that is centralized. This centralized server administers the system, adjusts the client’s supply and demand, balances load, monitors traffic and avoids congestion. This server follows a set of rules and performs accordingly. These rules are basically written and maintained by a middleware that is the actually the cloud providing company. To sum up business actually needs the attention of owner and when technology can take care of this by cloud computing service providers then why risk energy, time and mental peace? When one can solve all his problems through spending money! To know more about cloud based services, visit horizontech.com.
