They take care of their customer service and handle product promotion, this enable the companies to get rid of their dedicated staff and relocate them for better beneficial purposes elsewhere. It also helps them to reduce hardware and reduce unnecessary inventory, reducing the costs of operation for them. They take care of their inbound and outbound telecommunication traffic. Call centers in America also provide a multitude of other specialized services for their clients. One of these services is called ‘appointment setting’ for the client. What is the job of appointment setters in the call centers An appointment setter is basically sales rep of sorts who uses his/her verbal skills to set a meeting for a product promotion between a company and a potential buyer. In a call center an appointment setter would use their telemarketing skills to set up a one on one meet or a virtual meet between the client and a potential buyer. This is a specialized position within the call center. An appointment setter’s position could be best described as a sales development representative. He/ she is a specialized sales person who does product promotion using telemarketing but does not directly work for the company, instead works for the call center. The average salary of such kind of position in America is between 25000 $ to 44000 $ annually. It is one of those specialized service that is offered by American call centers. Appointment setters in a call center work from a phone to assist the sales and productivity of the company, they work more towards increasing sales and not towards customer service as is the case with the work done by call center primarily.
