  1. TOOTHACHE PAIN CAUSE SYMPTOMS & METHODS OF TREATMENT

  2. A Toothache is a pain that is caused in and around the teeth and jaws which may be sharp, throbbing or constant. Tooth Decay, an infection, loses or broken fillings, receding gums can cause toothache. In some people, pain results only when pressure is applied to the tooth and we can see the swelling around the tooth. Simple Home remedies made from ingredients available at home provide massive relief from discomfort which may be temporary but effective for sure. Here are some of the best methods recommended by dentists:

  3. Cold Compress or Ice Pack:  A cold compress or an ice pack can help ease dental pain, especially is a toothache is due to injury or swollen gums. A person can try holding the ice pack or bag of frozen peas, for example, against the outside of the cheek above the painful tooth for a few minutes at a time.  ·Salt Water Mouthwash:  Rinsing the mouth with warm salt water helps to loosen “debris” lodged in cavities or between teeth. It may reduce swelling, boost healing and relieve a sore throat.

  4. Garlic:  A fresh clove of garlic should be first crushed and then mixed with a little salt and the mixture applied to the affected tooth.  Thyme:   Thyme is known for its medicinal uses and its effective remedy. One drop of thyme essential oil can be added to a glass of water to make a mouthwash.   Peppermint Tea:   One teaspoon of dried peppermint leaves can be put in a cup of boiling water and steeped for 20 minutes. After allowing cooling, it can be swished around in the mouth then spat out or swallowed.

  5. Aloe Vera:   The gel should be applied to the painful area of the mouth and gently massaged.  ·         Hydrogen Peroxide rinse:  It should be mixed in equal parts of 3% hydrogen peroxide and water and swished in the mouth for about 30 sec. After spitting it out, the mouth should be rinsed several times with plain water.  Cloves:  Cloves have anti-inflammatory and anti- bacterial properties. A person can soak a small cotton ball with clove oil and apply it to the area affected by the painful tooth. Dried whole cloves can be used. Gently chew a whole clove to release its oil and hold in place against the affected tooth for up to 30 minutes.

  6. Recommendations of a Dentist for Toothache:  Brushing teeth with a fluoride toothpaste twice a day, for at least 2 minutes.           Cutting down on sugary food and drinks.   Flossing or using an interdental brush regularly to clean between the teeth and under the gum line.    Stop Smoking, as it can make dental problems worse.   Having regular dental check-ups.

  7. Hear, in our office of Cosmetic Dentist in Massapequa we offer these procedures:  When consulted for a cosmic dental procedure, to make your teeth healthier you bound to it. Here, the procedure uses a resin material let’s say plastic is applied to the teeth or even to a single tooth for the required appealing appearance.  The resin material used is the same as the material used for tooth fillings. Since it is the same in the color of the tooth, it cannot be easily detected enabling to mingling with the teeth.  Now, the bonding material used can be applied in one single session or in multiple sessions by the dentist relies completely on how many teeth will need the compound applied on to them.  However, the resin material used in dental procedures is not as strong as those used in cosmic procedures such as crowns and veneers.
