Universal College of Language School Policy With its strict school policy, UCL provides the highly advanced learning environment that is designed for students to focus solely on English learning. ■ Classes are taught by much experienced teachers with their professional certification in English language education. Through strict school policy and discipline, UCL helps the students to lead the successful school life accordingly. UCL’s medium sized structure only adds to helping the teachers and the students to interact actively in a friendly and warm environment English only Policy You must speak English at all times at UCL. If you are caught Speaking another language, you must leave the school immediately. You can return to the school the next day. Homework Policy If you have not completed your homework, you must complete it in the student lounge before entering class Lateness Policy School starts at 9:00am and UCL will lock the school doors at 9:10 am and open them at 10:20 am Attendance Policy Students who miss 2 or more days of one class without telephoning or telling a counsellor will not be allowed to attend any ESL class the next week 4 PG

Activities a great way to use your English skills outside of the classroom, socialize with other international students and discover the fun sports in B.C. UCL has two dynamic activity program coordinators who organize a variety of exciting events. We started ours studies in Canada at UCL. We chose UCL because it had few students each class, which is better for learning English. Now, UCL is bigger but the atmosphere is still the same and the teachers are friendly I like my teachers at UCL, they have excellent skills & are very friendly.My English is improving all the time and the schedule is interesting Hugo Canto (Mexico) & Tetsuo Osawa (Japan) Yadria (Mexico) Listening class is fun because we watch movies and talk about them. We can learn many things about Canada. They speak naturally but we try hard to understand. We like UCL UCL has great teachers & professi-onal Staff. I find UCL interesting because I have the opportunity to meet friends from all over the world. I am very happy with UCL Sylvaschan Lechel (Germany) Luis Beltrami & Allessandra Belfort (Brazil) I like UCL because I learn new things everyday. UCL also teaches slang and some vocabulary, which we need to use on the street or in shopping. The teachers at UCL are great. UCL feels like family to me. Everyone supports everyone else. On Friday activities I can speak English and learn more about Canadians. I like telling my teachers about my country and learning about theirs This school has a good environment for studying English. General English courses are organized in level one to four Advanced English courses are organized in level five to six. Basic vocabulary, comprehension course for basic conversation 1. Beginner………………. Basic conversation course for everyday situations. 2. Upper Beginner……… Increase your command of English for natural conversation and introductory Business English 3. Intermediate………….. Increase your command of English for complex conversations and good comprehension of news English. If you move on from this level, then you can get a “Superior Diploma” 4. Students will study business vocabulary and concepts, while practicing all language skills – speaking, listening, reading, and writing. By the end of the course, students should feel more comfortable making business presentations, reading difficult magazine articles, and using business-related vocabulary.   18. Universal College of Language Refund Policy The following refund policy applies to the terms of this enrolment contract. In case of cancellation, written request must be submitted to UCL by a student. Refund entitlement is calculated on the total fees due under the contract, less the non-refundable registration fee. 1. Refunds before the program of study begins: a. If a student visa is denied by Canadian immigration office, the school may retain non-refundable registration fee. b. If written request of cancellation is received by the student less than seven (7) calendar days after the contract ismade, and before the commencement of the period of instruction specified in the contract, the school may retainthe lesser of 25% of the total fees due under the contract or $400. c. Subject to subsection (1) (b), if written request of cancellation is received by the student thirty (30) calendar days ormore before the commencement of the period of instruction specified in the contract, the school may retain 25% of the total fees due under the contract. d. Subject to subsection (1) (b), if written request of cancellation is received by the student less than thirty (30)calendar days before the commencement of the period of instruction specified in the contract, the school mayretain 40% of the total fees due under the contract. 2. Refunds after the program of study starts: a. If written request of cancellation is received by the student within 10% of the period ofinstruction specified in the contract, the school may retain 50% of the total fees due under the contract. b. If written request of cancellation is received by the student after 10% and before 30%of the period of instruction specified in the contract, the school may retain 70% of the total fees due under thecontract. c. If written request of cancellation is received by the student after 30% of the period of instruction specified in the contract, no refund isrequired. 16 PG
